Pharmacy operations

A pharmacy platform that takes compliance seriously.

RxGuard is a HIPAA- and DEA-compliant pharmacy management platform, built on Supabase and Vercel. Designed from the ground up around the realities of independent pharmacy — not bolted on after the fact.

The problem

Independent pharmacies frequently operate on legacy management systems with limited compliance tooling, constrained analytics, and slow adaptation to evolving state regulatory requirements. RxGuard was built to address that gap directly — a platform structured around the operational and regulatory realities of independent pharmacy from the first line of code.

What’s in it

  • DEA 21 CFR 1304-compliant perpetual inventory for Schedule II with 10+ transaction types, running balance tracking, immutable audit trail, and Michigan Board of Pharmacy alignment.
  • AI-powered pill counting via Roboflow — two operating modes, image-capture workflow, and a full count history linked to individual prescriptions.
  • Real-time claims analytics — full claims history, per-claim P&L, per-plan reimbursement tracking, cost-vs-reimbursement comparison across insurance plans.
  • Automated wholesaler price comparison — logs into Cardinal Health and Auburn Pharmaceutical portals to pull live drug pricing, side-by-side, so purchasing decisions become obvious.
  • Role-based access control at the database level across 6 staff roles, aligned to Michigan pharmacy staffing rules.
  • HIPAA data handling and DEA audit-trail integrity baked in, not configured.

Stack

Supabase for the database layer (Postgres, row-level security, authentication), Vercel for deployment, Roboflow for the computer-vision pipeline, and AutoHotkey for wholesaler portal automation. The architecture is driven by the operational workflow it supports rather than the reverse.

Why it matters

Independent pharmacies face sustained margin pressure and an expanding administrative burden. RxGuard reduces time spent on compliance and inventory tasks and integrates regulatory requirements into the core workflow rather than treating them as overhead.
